The Older The Better Sometimes

When it comes to video games I’ll pretty much play anything. I love the new generations of consoles. The graphics are great, the gameplay is smooth, the stories are great, and the games are huge. You can sit down for hours and play and not think twice about it. But, sometimes I think that is not a good thing. Newer video games takes alot longer to actually get into and even scratch the surface. It can take quite a while to actually figure out what the story is, and where you are header. Older games, like games for Nintendo, or Sega Genesis, you could just pick up and go. Games like Mario or Sonic were just flat out fun. There is not much out there that is that simple anymore. Even games that have been around for a long time, like Madden Football. Back in the mid 90s you just picked your teams and hit the field. Now you have to figure out how much to pay your players, how much hot dogs cost and everything. Sure, that stuff is cool. But, sometimes it’s just as fun to pick up a game and go with it.

I wish there could be a happy little medium. Something new with new great graphics and technology, but at the same time something I can just pick up and play without having to think about anything.
